Round 4 Programs

Round 4 (2010) was the first round of this program under the new auspices of the NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Program. Fourteen teachers were selected in September 2009. Teams were formally created in January 2010, and they worked through 2010 on their projects. Proposals for these teams were due in February 2010. They presented their results in January 2011.

For this round, all of the teams did archival research, using Spitzer and many other data sets.

The teachers worked with scientists from both the SSC and NOAO, as well as with teacher mentors with previous experience in the program. The participating teachers in Round 4 are: Chelen Johnson (Breck School, Minneapolis, MN) Kevin McCarron (Oak Park and River Forest High School, Oak Park, IL) Vivian Hoette (Yerkes Observatory, Williams Bay, WI) Carolyn Mallory (Pierce College, Woodland Hills, CA) Tim Spuck (Oil City Area High School, Oil City, PA) Kate Meredith (LaCrosse area schools, LaCrosse, WI) Helen Petach (Fairview High School, Boulder, CO) Elizabeth Ramseyer (Niles West High School, Skokie, IL) Sally Seebode (San Mateo High School, San Mateo, CA) Darryl Stanford (San Mateo Community College, San Mateo, CA) Dean Drumheller (San Mateo Community College, San Mateo, CA) Beth Thomas (North Middle School, Great Falls, MT) Richard DeCoster (Niles West High School, Skokie, IL) and Peggy Piper (Lincoln-Way North High School, Frankfort, IL).
