Infrared Melting Ice Cube
The image to the right shows an infrared view of a melting ice cube. In this
image purple represents the coolest temperatures, while red represents the
warmest temperatures. Notice the rings of color, representing the increase in
melt water temperature as the water flows away from the ice cube. Everything
that has a temperature - even cold objects like an ice cube - radiate in the
infrared.
