The Multiwavelength Messier Museum is a collaborative effort between the Spitzer Science Center (SSC) at the Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC), California Institute of Technology and the Telescopes in Education (TIE) program. TIE is itself a collaborative effort of the Mount Wilson Institute and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology.
The concept, design, organization and text for the Museum are a combined effort of Linda Hermans-Killam (IPAC/Caltech), Michael D. Bicay (SSC/Caltech) Richard Yessayian (Montebello Unified School District) and Schuyler van Dyk (IPAC/Caltech).
We are particularly grateful for the superb background information and valuable links accessible at the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) site at the Lunar and Planetary Institute, University of Arizona and the NASA/GSFC "Imagine the Universe Dictionary".
The Museum will be undergoing 'permanent' development, as new and improved images become available from ground-based and space-borne observatories. The latest changes will always be available by glancing at 'What's New?'
Funding support is provided by the Spitzer Space Telescope Project and the Spitzer Science Center, and by the Two-Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS), a NASA/NSF-funded collaboration between the University of Massachusetts and IPAC/Caltech.
