Maf2-dss

In visible light, the barred spiral galaxy is barely seen in this visible light image from the Digitized Sky Survay. The galaxy's location is almost directly behind the plane of the Milky Way and the foreground dust clouds inside our own galaxy nearly block our view of this external galaxy.
